The spread by the COVID-19 virus has brought new challenges to the care provided in health institutions. The use of the prone position combined with the fragile clinical condition of patients leads to the emergence of pressure injuries. The objective of this work is to analyze the scientific publications that approach the relationship between the use of the prone position and the occurrence of pressure injuries in patients affected by COVID-19. This is bibliographic research and is a systematic literature review. The literature search was carried out in the databases SciELO - Scientific Electronic Library Online, LILACS - Literatura Latino Americana do Caribe em Ciências e Saúde and MEDLINE - Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online, using the Descriptors: Pressure Ulcer, Pronation and COVID-19. After reading the publications, 08 articles were identified that addressed the topic in question. The results pointed to pressure injury prevention strategies in patients with COVID-19, as well as presented instruments used to prevent these injuries. Identified the importance of nursing professional guidelines and highlighted the importance of updating and technical knowledge about Pressure ulcers. It is noticed that the occurrence of pressure injuries in patients in the prone position affected by COVID-19, requires even more commitment from nursing, in order to prevent pressure injuries in these patients.
