EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF COLON CANCER IN RIO DE JANEIRO IN THE LAST 5 YEARS

Colon cancer has a high incidence and high mortality rates and can affect any segment of the large intestine and is related to both genetic and environmental factors. Allowed is asymptomatic and, therefore, its diagnosis and treatment preceded. The aim of this study was to analyze the epidemiology of this disease and to correlate with the data obtained through the analysis of factors such as number of hospitalizations, mortality rate, total spend, age group, sex and ethnicity. For this, a systematic literature review, in addition, a data collection was associated with DATASUS. Confirming the previously researched data, the age group most affected was in those over 50 years old, but the highest mortality rate was in those over 80. Therefore, it is extremely important to study this neoplasia further and improve its tracking.
