Abstract

This article reports the relevance and impositions of blood donation, in order to encourage it, with information obtained from a bibliographic survey and the help of the veterinary doctor Julia Codo Aruk graduated in 2017 from the Anhembi Morumbi university, resident in clinical pathology and blood bank at the Anhembi Morumbi Veterinary Hospital, currently working at the Petcare Hospital laboratory. cure. There are rules that must be followed, mainly aiming at the well-being and health of the donor, as well as that of the recipient. The occurrence of transfusion reactions can be mitigated by strictly following appropriate rules for the use of blood products. It is extremely important to carry out compatibility tests. Blood banks face difficulties in collecting blood due to the scarcity of donors and specific and adequate material, which make it impossible to store them safely.
