This research sought to present the use of Assistive Technologies, as a methodology that facilitates the learning process of students with disabilities. The observations took place in a municipal public school in the East Zone of Manaus, through a phenomenological research, with a qualitative approach, where participant observation techniques and semi-structured interviews were used, with the general objective of analyzing the contributions of Assistive Technologies in the empowerment of the learning process of students with disabilities. The concept of Assistive Technology is still new, being used to identify the full range of resources and services that contribute to the promotion and / or enhancement of the functional abilities of people with disabilities, and, consequently, the promotion of independent life for this audience. In the educational field, it favors accessibility and the development of learning skills for students with special educational needs. As a result of this research, we realized that the whole range of services, resources and pedagogical practices, derived from assistive technology, favors a more autonomous and independent life for students with disabilities, contributing to a higher quality of life, social inclusion, equal rights and the exercise of citizenship.
