This article is a literature review of rectus abdominis diastasis (RMA) in postpartum women. Diastasis is caused by the opening of the rectus abdominis muscle, either by weight gain or hereditary factors. The objective of this study was to analyze how the physical therapy treatment is important to minimize the negative effects of DRAM. Physiotherapeutic interventions can start after eight hours of normal delivery. The negative effects caused by DRAM result in women who have recently given birth directly to their self-esteem. It was observed that the lack of knowledge about non-invasive treatments is also a reason for not performing this one. This review is integrative, descriptive, bibliographical and exploratory. As a main result, it was observed that the lack of knowledge about diastasis and the non-invasive treatment affect the search for physical therapy treatments, since they were able to strengthen the abdominal muscles.
