This article presents observations regarding the "Protagonistas do Saber" (Protagonists of Knowledge) project, carried out at the Petrópolis Municipal School in the Petrópolis neighborhood of Concórdia, Santa Catarina. Inspired by the *Escola da Inteligência* (School of Intelligence)—an educational program implemented in Brazil that focuses on the socio-emotional development of students, teachers, and families using a methodology based on psychiatrist Augusto Cury’s Theory of Multifocal Intelligence—the project also draws upon the principles of the *Escola da Ponte* (Bridge School), established by José Pacheco in Porto, Portugal. It focuses on developing mathematics and Portuguese language skills among students in grades 1 through 5 of elementary education. Its central objective is to foster learner autonomy, thereby contributing to the development of essential competencies.Downloads
