Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has played an increasingly significant role in transforming healthcare systems, contributing to improved quality of care, service efficiency, and clinical decision-making. This study aimed to analyze the influence of Artificial Intelligence on healthcare services in Angola, identifying its key applications, opportunities, challenges, and future prospects. The research adopted a qualitative approach based on a systematic literature review, analyzing scientific articles, books, reports from international organizations, and institutional documents regarding AI in healthcare. The results indicate that AI holds great potential to support medical diagnosis, telemedicine, hospital management, epidemiological surveillance, and personalized medicine. International experiences demonstrate that implementing these technologies can enhance diagnostic accuracy, reduce operational costs, and improve access to healthcare. In the Angolan context, opportunities exist to modernize the healthcare system, although challenges remain regarding technological infrastructure, the digitization of medical records, the training of specialized personnel, funding, and ethical and legal regulation. The study concludes that the gradual adoption of Artificial Intelligence could significantly contribute to strengthening Angola's National Health System, provided it is accompanied by investments in digital infrastructure, professional training, data protection, and public policies that ensure ethical, safe, and sustainable implementation.
