This study analyzes the implementation of Sustainable Logistics Plans (SLPs) in Federal Higher Education Institutions, focusing on universities located in the state of Piauí. The research is descriptive in nature and employs a qualitative approach based on a review of literature and official documents. The SLPs of the Federal University of the Delta do Parnaíba (UFDPar), the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), and the Federal University of the São Francisco Valley (UNIVASF) were examined, with a focus on their structure, guidelines, targets, and monitoring mechanisms. The results show that, although the institutions formally meet regulatory requirements, there are differences regarding their level of institutionalization, monitoring capacity, integration with strategic planning, and evaluation capabilities. Furthermore, inconsistencies were identified in official information systems, as not all plans are properly registered in government databases. The study concludes that the effectiveness of SLPs depends on strengthening management mechanisms, coordinating planning, execution, and evaluation, and ensuring institutional engagement; it is necessary to move beyond mere formal compliance with regulations and consolidate these instruments as effective sustainability practices within public administration.Downloads
