INFORMATION AS A BASIS FOR SUPPORTING THE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES OF THE UFPB GENERAL PROTOCOL OFFICE

The information society aims to support the diversity of media and means of access to information. In this context, the empirical field of this research is the General Protocol of the University of Paraíba (UFPB), characterized as an environment where information constitutes the fundamental resource for the execution of administrative activities. Aiming to understand how the dissemination of information processes in the sector, this research sought to identify the information needs of the servers and verify possible barriers in the access, search and use of information. The study sample consisted of seven servers, drawn from a universe of ten employees. Methodologically, a descriptive study with a quantitative approach was conducted. As a data collection instrument, a structured questionnaire with multiple choice questions was adopted. Data analysis was performed using electronic spreadsheets. The results show that, despite occasional obstacles associated with the sector’s informational needs, highlighting the challenges in the implementation of the Integrated System of Heritage, Administration and Contracts (SIPAC), the process of information dissemination by the servers was considered satisfactory, mitigating bureaucratic flows and optimizing institutional service.
