This study aimed to analyze the efficacy of ozone therapy in the treatment of diabetic ulcers compared with conventional therapies through an integrative literature review. The methodology consisted of searching studies in the bibliographic databases PubMed/MEDLINE, Virtual Health Library (VHL), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), and Web of Science (Clarivate Core Collection). The following Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) were used: “Ozone Therapy” AND “Diabetic Foot OR Ulcer” AND “Diabetes Mellitus”, including publications from 2021 to 2025. The selected studies investigated the effects of ozone therapy on the reduction and healing of diabetic ulcers of the lower limbs, as well as possible complications related to the severity of the patients' clinical conditions, compared with conventional treatment. The results demonstrated that ozone therapy had favorable effects on the wound-healing process, contributing to local infection control, reduction in lesion size, and prevention of surgical amputation procedures of affected limbs. Furthermore, a decrease in the length of hospital stay for patients was observed, as well as additional benefits related to tissue repair and improved patient metabolism.
