Dyslipidemia is a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease, especially in high-risk individuals with a high probability of atherosclerotic events. This study analyzed the management of dyslipidemia in these patients through a narrative literature review, aiming to identify stratification criteria, lipid targets, and main therapeutic interventions. The methodology involved a qualitative approach with searches in databases such as PubMed and SciELO, covering publications from the last ten years. Results showed that management is based on intensive LDL-cholesterol reduction, with statins as the first-line therapy. However, the challenge of reaching targets with monotherapy promotes the use of combined therapies with ezetimibe and PCSK9 inhibitors. It is concluded that effective management requires a multifactorial approach integrating pharmacology, lifestyle changes, and strategies to overcome barriers such as poor adherence and therapeutic inertia, which are essential to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
