Climacteric is a natural phase of the female reproductive cycle, marked by hormonal, physical, and emotional changes that can impact sexuality and quality of life. However, this stage is still surrounded by taboos and misinformation, making it difficult for women to access proper health guidance. In view of this, the study aims to analyze misinformation and barriers to access to health education on sexuality during the climacteric. It is a literature review, of a descriptive nature and qualitative approach, conducted through the analysis of scientific productions available in national and international databases. The results highlight the persistence of sociocultural stigmas, the insufficiency of educational actions in health services, and gaps in the approach to sexuality by professionals, especially in Primary Care. These factors contribute to the silencing of women's demands and to the limitation of autonomy in caring for their own bodies. It is concluded that it is essential to strengthen health education strategies and qualify the performance of professionals, aiming for comprehensive, welcoming, and evidence-based care that promotes the well-being, autonomy, and quality of life of women in the climacteric.
