Abstract

This article will present misogyny in Brazil from the perspective of its relationship with domestic violence, seeking to understand how this phenomenon is articulated with historical patterns of gender inequality and structural sexism. It also analyzes, within this context, the recurring profile of the aggressor, with emphasis on recidivism in violent conduct, which generally leads to femicide. Furthermore, it examines the intergenerational impact resulting from these abusive relationships, demonstrating that children often assume the position of indirect victims. The central objective is to demonstrate the origin and unfolding of domestic violence, the state's frustrated attempts at protection, and the main consequences, whether femicide or vicaricide.
