Introduction: The article analyzed the nurse’s role in the management of oncological wounds in cancer patients. Although these lesions are common in advanced stages of the disease, they present significant clinical complexity due to difficult healing and associated symptoms. The study highlighted the importance of nurses in providing care, addressing the main characteristics of these wounds, their physical and psychosocial implications, as well as the strategies used to control signs and symptoms and promote patients’ quality of life. Objective: The main objective of this article was to describe the nurse’s assistance in the management of oncological wounds. Methodology: The research was based on a literature review developed through the analysis of scientific articles, journals, dissertations, theses, and official publications from the Ministry of Health. Results and Discussion: The studies demonstrated the importance of nurses’ performance in the management of oncological wounds, especially in symptom control and the promotion of quality of life. A lack of professional training and the need for specific protocols to provide more qualified care were also observed. Conclusion: It was concluded that the management of oncological wounds requires qualified and humanized nursing care, making professional training, the development of protocols, and multidisciplinary teamwork essential for promoting patient comfort and quality of life.
