Antiresorptive drugs are widely used in the treatment of osteoporosis, Paget's disease, and in the prevention of bone metastases resulting from different types of tumors. However, these medications can have side effects, causing the development of Drug-Associated Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (DOMA), a condition affecting the jaw region that hinders dental interventions. In this context, the present study aimed to review scientific papers and analyze the clinical approaches adopted in the care and management of patients using antiresorptive drugs who require dental care. To this end, a search was conducted in the SciELO and PubMed databases using the descriptors "bisphosphonates," "osteonecrosis," "dental treatment," and "drug therapy." The terms were also searched in English and combined using the Boolean operators AND and OR, including articles published in the last five years. The results showed that there is still no defined therapeutic protocol for the dental care of these patients. However, certain procedures are recommended for dentists, such as conducting a detailed and thorough medical history to understand the patient's clinical history and to propose treatments aimed at relieving pain.
