This article aimed to analyze public policies to combat violence against women in the state of Pará, focusing on the role of the Military Police of Pará (PMPA) through the Maria da Penha Patrol as a tool for protection and prevention. The research problem is: how does the PMPA contribute to the effectiveness of these public policies in the Pará context? The general objective was to analyze the institutional role of the Military Police in implementing actions to address gender-based violence, especially in monitoring protective measures. This is a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory study based on bibliographic and documentary review, using official data and studies published between 2020 and 2025. The results show that the Maria da Penha Patrol plays a strategic role in enforcing protective measures, reducing recidivism, and strengthening the protection network. It is concluded that the PMPA plays a fundamental role in ensuring the effectiveness of public security policies, although structural challenges such as territorial coverage, underreporting, and institutional integration remain.
