The present study aims to carry out an epidemiological analysis of dengue cases using data on the total number of dengue cases in Paraná and comparing them between the years 2023 and 2024. It also seeks to understand the seasonality of the disease and its impact on hospitalization rates and mortality numbers. The objective is to analyze the epidemiological patterns of dengue cases among individuals in Paraná between 2023 and 2024, comparing data from both years regarding disease incidence trends and seasonality, with the purpose of contributing to the development of more effective disease prevention and control strategies. This is a descriptive, quantitative study conducted through data collection from the DATASUS Platform (Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System). Research filters were used to compare cases between the years 2023 and 2024, including: months of the year, mortality rates, and hospitalizations. During this period, a considerable increase was identified in probable dengue cases, with a rise of approximately 209.26% between 2023 and 2024. Between March and May of both years, there was a greater concentration of disease transmission occurrences. Hospitalizations increased by 260.54%, suggesting more severe clinical conditions among patients. The number of deaths also showed a concerning increase of 449.25%. The study aims to demonstrate that dengue cases experienced a significant increase in the state of Paraná in 2024 compared to 2023. Therefore, more effective actions are necessary to control the spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito vector. It is crucial to invest in the healthcare system, improve public access to disease-related information, enhance the rapid identification of severe cases, and expand vaccination efforts.
