The Mariana Trench is, in fact, the deepest region on Earth and is home to peculiar and obscure ecosystems. Despite this, there are still some factors limiting its access that restrict knowledge about such a hostile environment. The purpose of this study is to provide a discussion of preservation (scientific, technological, environmental) opportunities and associated risks. The study was informed by bibliographic and documentary reviews, consulting articles, reports and scientific reports that identified key characteristics, obstacles and environmental problems. All of this makes it clear that not only is it an ecosystem home to many forms of life and adapted organisms, but it also contains pollutants, even at its deepest depths. To this end, in the spirit of debating the scientific and ecological potential, and the need not to lose this environmental heritage, other quantitative or qualitative research could be carried out, as some scientific and technical issues involved for a responsible examination based on the approach of this study.
