The family plays an essential role in the development of its members, performing an important social function, since it constitutes the first group in which the individual is inserted, directly reflecting on their interpersonal relationships. As a rule, the family environment should represent a space of protection and guarantee of rights; however, this dynamic does not always occur in a healthy way, and can become a context conducive to negative influences on its members, such as suggestion and the construction of false memories. Therefore, this study seeks to investigate the effect of Parental Alienation on memory formation. In this sense, addressing false memories resulting from parental alienation demands special attention, considering the harm that can be caused to the child. Child manipulation can result in psychosomatic effects, in addition to favoring the creation of false memories, producing significant emotional impacts, and directly compromising the child's psychological development. Given this, the question arises: What are the main impacts of parental alienation on the process of memory formation in childhood? To this end, a literature review was conducted based on existing material, mainly consisting of books and scientific articles. The research is characterized as a qualitative study, based on data collection, research instruments, and the theoretical assumptions that guide the investigation.
