This study aimed to analyze the influence of socioeconomic factors on the choice of contraceptive methods among women in situations of social vulnerability. This is an integrative literature review conducted through searches in the Virtual Health Library databases, using Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) and Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Studies published in recent years, available in full text and related to the proposed theme, were included. The analysis revealed that factors such as income, education level, access to health services, and geographic location directly influence contraceptive choices. It was observed that women in vulnerable situations tend to use less effective or definitive methods, often due to limited access to information and healthcare services. Furthermore, structural and social barriers restrict reproductive autonomy. It is concluded that, although contraceptive methods are available in the public health system, inequalities persist, negatively impacting reproductive health, highlighting the need for more effective and equitable public policies.
