This study is a literature review aimed at demonstrating the benefits of Pilates in adolescents with scoliosis. Articles published within the last six years were used. Scoliosis can be classified as a structural deformity of the spine, characterized by a lateral curvature in the frontal plane with associated vertebral rotation, resulting in a three-dimensional postural alteration. Pilates is applied as a viable therapeutic intervention and recommended treatment for scoliosis. Thus, its application in patients is considered an effective technique for improving pain, trunk rotation, and also reducing the Cobb angle. It is important to highlight how Pilates can be useful and beneficial in the treatment of scoliosis; therefore, it aims to improve pain, mobility, and breathing, while developing good flexibility and muscle strengthening, thereby limiting the harmful effects caused by scoliosis and alleviating its symptoms in these individuals. In this context, physiotherapy plays a fundamental role by adopting a conservative treatment approach and is regularly indicated as the first option for treating mild spinal curvatures, with the objective of preventing the progression of the deformity.
