Abstract

This article discusses the concealment of children and adolescents in the context of domestic violence against women, seeking to break with the categories of "collateral" or "indirect" victims. The analysis is woven through the lens of feminist epistemologies, which allow us to understand age subordination as a central marker for interpreting gender-based violence. Through the analysis of public policies, normative frameworks, and reflection on narrative vignettes of children and adolescents who witnessed domestic violence, aspects are presented that demonstrate how testimony constitutes a direct experience of rights violations and ethical-political suffering, confronting the idea that such an experience is a passive event for those who live or have lived it. The text denounces the invisibility produced by public policies and the legal system, proposing the need for listening and care practices that recognize these subjects as centrally and inseparably affected by the patriarchal framework.
