Abstract

This study analyzed scientific evidence regarding nursing performance for the transgender population within health services. This is an integrative literature review that, after applying eligibility criteria, selected 29 articles for the final sample. Results show that this population faces social vulnerability and barriers to healthcare access due to discrimination and lack of professional training. It is highlighted that qualified welcoming based on the use of social names and active listening is the primary strategy for establishing therapeutic bonds. Nursing plays a fundamental role in the continuity of care and the promotion of inclusive practices, being essential for reducing inequalities and ensuring dignified and humanized assistance.
