Abstract

Hypertensive and cardiovascular diseases constitute an important public health problem and are among the main causes of death in the adult population in developed countries. Clinical evidence supports the importance of systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) as a risk factor. The Popular Pharmacy Program is an initiative of the Ministry of Health and was created in 2004 and modified in partnership with private pharmacies and drugstores in 2017. It emerged as an alternative for the population to access medicines considered essential for public health. Considering the high prevalence of hypertension in the population and the efficacy of drug therapy in the treatment, the present study sought to compare the therapeutic response related to the combined administration of these two drugs Losartan potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide in hypertension, in the treatment of patients.
