The general objective of this study is to analyze, through a literature review, the factors associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. To this end, a literature review was conducted in the SciELO, PubMed, and CAPES Periodicals Portal databases, focusing on publications from the last 5 years. This resulted in the location and analysis of 8 articles, all published in English, reflecting the scenario of H. pylori infection in various parts of the world. The most observed trends in the study revealed a prevalence of H. pylori infection linked to socioeconomic factors, such as smoking, alcoholism, and high salt consumption, as well as other factors like age, education level, and ethnic disparities. Those infected demonstrated deficient socioeconomic conditions and low access to healthcare services. When considering the context of the studies found in the Amazon region, the study highlights the municipality of Manacapuru, which is characterized by inadequate basic sanitation. The study recommends, in the field of health, the need to strengthen Primary Health Care, as well as public policies focused on issues such as treated water and basic sanitation as elements capable of reducing the potential for H. pylori infection in people.
