The objective of this work aims to point out, through literature, how nurses have contributed to the patient safety process regarding fall prevention in pediatrics. Since the beginning of nursing practice, care focused on the patient's demands has been advocated. Over the years, preventive measures have been adopted to mitigate errors and promote patient rehabilitation, returning them to family and societal life. Patient safety is influenced, despite advances in healthcare, by iatrogenic events committed by professionals, which directly reflect on the quality of life of patients, causing unpleasant consequences for both patients and professionals, and for the hospital organization. The methodological research type was exploratory descriptive, with a qualitative methodology, carried out through bibliographic research of the literature to gain familiarity with the topic. We conclude, therefore, that based on the points brought forth by this work, the relevance of the nursing professional as a contributor to the patient safety process for the reduction of fall rates in pediatrics can be identified and highlighted, being fundamental in providing qualified and effective care.
