Abstract

This article addresses the interdisciplinary dialogue between bioethics, military disciplinary law, and the UN 2030 Agenda. Considering the academic, social, and institutional relevance of the topic, the objective is to analyze the impact of applying bioethical principles as an ethical-normative parameter in the establishment, investigation, and application of disciplinary sanctions within the Military Police of Paraíba. The central problem is to inquire how bioethical principles can guide the conduct of military disciplinary administrative processes in the Military Police of Paraíba, contributing to more ethical and transparent practices aligned with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) of the UN 2030 Agenda. The research uses the hypothetical-deductive method, with a qualitative approach and a bibliographic review technique of books and articles concerning the topic. The results suggest that the application of bioethical principles in military disciplinary administrative processes within the Military Police of Paraíba transcends mere procedural adequacy, constituting an essential strategy for building an inclusive, effective, and responsible institution, in line with SDG 16 of the 2030 Agenda. It was concluded that the principles of bioethics are compatible with the constitutional and normative foundations governing military disciplinary administrative processes, offering a promising path for strengthening institutional sustainability and promoting human rights. It is recommended that the Military Police of Paraíba establish a Bioethics and Human Rights Commission to update its internal regulations in light of this interdisciplinary dialogue, allowing bioethics to be the guiding thread of ethical governance that harmonizes the necessary military discipline with the inalienable protection of human rights.
