PERFORMANCE OF THE NURSE IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN THE REHABILITATION OF THE ELDERLY AFTER CEREBROVASCULAR ACCIDENT

This article aimed to understand the role of nurses in Primary Health Care in the rehabilitation of elderly individuals after Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), in the home setting. It was an integrative literature review, with a qualitative approach. The research was carried out through the bibliographic analysis of scientific articles published between the years 2020 and 2026, using databases such as Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), the Virtual Health Library (VHL), and the Nursing Database (BDENF), in addition to the Google Scholar search engine. The analyzed studies showed that the nurse played a fundamental role in care planning, family guidance, prevention of complications, and promotion of the functional recovery of the elderly at home. It was also observed the need to strengthen health education strategies and multiprofessional practice to improve the continuity of care. It was concluded that the role of the nurse in home rehabilitation significantly contributed to the quality of life of elderly individuals after CVA, being essential for the comprehensiveness of care in Primary Health Care.
