PROMOTION OF HUMAN VALUES IN THE SCHOOL CONTEXT: AN EXPERIENCE REPORT WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

Abstract

This article presents an experience report carried out by a Psychology undergraduate student within the context of a supervised internship in School Psychology, conducted with 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students in an institution located in southern Santa Catarina, Brazil. The supervised internship represents an essential stage in academic training, as it enables the integration of theory and practice, fostering the development of professional skills and a deeper understanding of the demands present in the educational environment. Based on the internship guidelines, observations and interventions were conducted focusing on the promotion of human values, such as respect, empathy, solidarity, friendship, and cooperation. Considering the characteristics of the group, the activities were designed to provide a meaningful and enriching experience for both students and the school community. The interventions were developed through playful strategies and group dynamics, encouraging active student participation, emotional expression, and reflection on social interactions. The results indicated strengthened interpersonal relationships, increased engagement in the proposed activities, and progress in the development of socioemotional skills. It is concluded that the supervised internship constitutes a relevant formative experience, contributing both to the development of the intern’s professional identity and to the promotion of a more welcoming, cooperative, and meaningful school environment.
