Abstract

Prenatal care is fundamental for promoting maternal and child health, as it allows for the early identification of risks and appropriate guidance for pregnant women, especially in low-risk cases. However, adherence to prenatal care remains a challenge, influenced by socioeconomic and cultural factors, as well as the quality of care offered. In this context, nursing consultations stand out as an important care strategy, providing support, qualified listening, health education, and strengthening the bond with the pregnant woman. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing consultations in low-risk prenatal care, focusing on pregnant women's adherence to care. This is an integrative literature review, conducted through the selection and analysis of studies on the role of nursing in this context. The findings showed that nursing consultations promote the engagement of pregnant women, contribute to the prevention of gestational complications, and strengthen women's autonomy in health care. It is concluded that the nurse's role in primary health care is essential to increase adherence to prenatal care and improve the quality of maternal and child health.
