Brazil makes up the list of countries with the highest concentrations of income in the world and has high rates of social inequality and crime. Variables such as unemployment and schooling are also part of this scenario and can contribute to a reality of social conflict and low economic growth. Therefore, we aim to analyze the relationship between inequality, socioeconomic development and crime. We have a qualitative-quantitative, descriptive and explanatory research using secondary data from bibliographic and documentary research. The State of Amazonas suffered the impacts of state actions to promote the reduction of crime in the country and reached significant rates although it remains with important problems in the social field with regard to the quantity and quality of jobs, marginalization and poverty. The relationship between inequality, socioeconomic development and crime was controversial at times due to the inability to establish a logical relationship with the indices presented, but the general understanding of the subject is consolidated.
