This article analyzed the literature on the importance of nursing professionals' care for pregnant women with hypertension during pregnancy. The method used was an integrative review, with data searched through the Virtual Health Library (VHL), which includes the LILACS, MEDLINE, and BDENF databases. The SciELO and PubMed databases were also used. Based on the studies analyzed, it was clear that nurses' roles go beyond performing routine procedures, encompassing everything from monitoring physical examinations to promoting self-care and building trusting relationships with pregnant women. A holistic, sensitive, and adaptable approach to pregnant women's care is essential, and ongoing training for nursing professionals is recommended, focusing not only on pathophysiological aspects but also on communication skills and emotional support. Conducting studies on this topic is essential to reduce complications and morbidity and mortality rates among pregnant women with preeclampsia and/or eclampsia.
