The involvement of the sagittal skeletal discrepancy called Pattern III is considered one of the most complex alterations in resolution, having as one of the factors the unpredictability of post-pubertal growth. The objective of this work is to describe the orthopedic devices for the treatment of Pattern III patients in the growth phase. For data collection, a search was carried out for scientific articles published from 2012 to 2023, in the PubMed and Scielo databases, proceeding with the selection steps based on the established inclusion and exclusion criteria, where 21 articles were used to this review. In view of the facts raised, we can show that there is an amount related to the treatment of growing Pattern III patients, where the majority is represented by treatment with rapid maxillary expansion associated with a face mask. However, advances in orthodontic techniques have brought about some changes, such as: shorter treatment time, increased rates of adherence to treatment, bone anchorage and smaller secondary alterations.
