This article investigated the strengthening of river policing in the Amazon as a strategy for sovereignty and public security. The purpose was to examine how increased river policing affects public security and the consolidation of the State's presence in the Amazon, considering the social and territorial complexity of the region. The research employed a qualitative, exploratory, and bibliographic methodology, through a survey of academic and institutional materials, as well as analysis of official documents and statistical data on public security and river policing. The results showed that the constant presence of the State on the rivers, in inter-institutional partnership and with technological innovation, reduces crime and strengthens national sovereignty. The final considerations indicate that river policy needs to be multidimensional, encompassing not only punitive measures but also social and environmental actions, ensuring citizenship, sustainability, and territorial integration.Downloads
