This article aimed to identify the main orthopedic traumas resulting from traffic accidents and analyze the role of physical therapists in the rehabilitation of these victims. This is an integrative literature review conducted in the BVS and SciELO databases between 2020 and 2025, using standardized descriptors. After screening 110 studies, eight were included. The results indicated a predominance of lower limb fractures, multiple traumas, and brachial plexus injuries, especially in young adult male victims of motorcycle accidents. Physical therapy was found to be essential in all phases of recovery, helping to reduce pain, prevent complications, and restore function. The most effective approaches involve early mobilization, active exercises, and functional training. The conclusion is that early and continuous physical therapy intervention is crucial for physical and functional recovery, reinforcing the importance of expanding access to rehabilitation.
