This article investigates road traffic safety on Highway AM-070, focusing on the relationship between limitations in road infrastructure and human behavior. The main objective is to analyze how the interaction between these factors contributes to the occurrence of risk situations and traffic accidents in the Amazonian context. The methodology adopted is a qualitative bibliographic and documentary research, based on the analysis of scientific publications, institutional documents, and official data related to road safety. The results indicate that traffic insecurity on AM-070 results from the combination of structural deficiencies of the roadway, such as pavement and signaling problems, and recurrent patterns of risky human behavior, especially speeding and imprudence. It is concluded that isolated actions have limited effectiveness, highlighting the need for integrated public policies that combine investments in infrastructure, continuous enforcement, and traffic education, taking into account the social and territorial specificities of the Amazon region.
