Artificial Intelligence has been used in various fields of healthcare. Studies demonstrate benefits such as improvements in healthcare delivery; however, AI still faces obstacles to its implementation due to the need for ethical analysis. This research aims to discuss the effects of AI use by medical students, addressing both the benefits and concerns regarding the potential decline in medical skills within the doctor-patient relationship. This study conducted a literature review across the PubMed, Periódicos Capes, SciELO, and Cochrane databases. The results showed that AI has developed in several directions, enabling data collection and assessment while enhancing medical professionalization. Thus, it is noted that technology influences medical decisions but is not without disadvantages, given the ongoing need for integration into the medical curriculum and concerns regarding the ethics of the doctor-patient relationship. It is concluded that while AI platforms offer benefits, there are concerns about a possible decline in medical skills. Furthermore, the vast majority of medical students have not received training on AI in medical practice, highlighting the importance of training for both students and educators.
