TECNOLOGIA RENOVADORA DAS VANTAGENS E DESVANTAGENS DO PRONTUÁRIO ELETRÔNICO DO PACIENTE NA ÁREA DA SAÚDE: ESPECIALIZAÇÃO EM INFORMÁTICA EM SAÚDE

Abstract

Objective: To describe the advantages and disadvantages of using electronic patient records in the healthcare field. Method: This is a bibliographic reference research, with articles published from 2013 to 2018, collected in the following LILACS and SCIELO databases. Results: Seven articles were selected, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria for full reading. It was evident that professionals recognize the importance of PEP in the hospital area and use it in several aspects, however, they still face limitations when using it. Conclusion: There was recognition of the importance of the use of PEP by health professionals in hospital units, but it is highlighted that the professional is not always able to use it or the institution is able to put it into practice, being hard work on the part of the educational institutions and the continuing education department of the institutions is necessary.
