This study presents a comparative analysis of hospital incidence of amebiasis in Brazil, the State of Paraná, and the Western Health Macro-region, between 2008 and 2024. The ecological, descriptive, and quantitative study used secondary data from the SUS Hospital Information System (SIH/SUS) to identify geographical and temporal patterns. The results revealed a sentinel epidemiological event in the Western Macro-region in 2008, accounting for about 60% of the state's hospitalizations that year. The analysis correlated this atypical outbreak with extreme rainfall rates in the region, suggesting low resilience of local sanitary infrastructure in the face of severe climatic events. An abrupt drop in national hospitalizations was also observed starting in 2020, attributed to underreporting during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is concluded that amebiasis persists as a marker of eco-social vulnerability and that epidemiological surveillance must integrate climate monitoring to anticipate risks in environmental crisis scenarios.
