Social Psychology has expanded its role in the field of public policies, especially in social assistance, contributing to more humane and transformative practices. This paper proposes to critically reflect on this process and its challenges. The general objective of this paper is to conduct a bibliographic review on Social Psychology in public social assistance policies, analyzing its contributions to social inclusion and addressing inequalities. The methodology adopted was qualitative, exploratory in nature, based on a systematic bibliographic review of ten scientific articles published between 2015 and 2025. The results indicate that Social Psychology plays an essential role in mediating between subjects and public policies, promoting the strengthening of bonds, active listening and the recognition of social diversity. It is concluded that, although the field still faces institutional and ethical challenges, psychology can act as an agent of social transformation, as long as it is committed to social justice and equity.
