Breast cancer is one of the diseases that most affects women and has a significant impact on various aspects of women's lives, including their sexuality. Physical, emotional, and psychological changes resulting from treatment with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy can affect women's self-esteem, sexuality, and interpersonal relationships. This article aims to analyze the impacts of breast cancer on female sexuality and the difficulties faced by nursing professionals in procedures and in caring for these vulnerable women. Through a literature review of articles and books, the main effects of breast cancer on the sexual lives of these women were identified, as well as strategies for care and support promoted by nursing professionals. Furthermore, it is observed that nursing care is fundamental in reducing negative impacts through humanized care and guidance that contribute to the adaptation and comfort of these patients.
