This research focuses on pre-hospital care and the challenges faced in emergency and urgent care in Brazil. The guiding question is: What are the main challenges faced in pre-hospital emergency and urgent care in Brazil? The general objective is to analyze the challenges of pre-hospital emergency and urgent care in Brazil. The specific objectives are: To identify how pre-hospital care functions in Brazil; To understand the difficulties faced by nursing professionals in pre-hospital emergency and urgent care; and To present alternatives for improvements in this sector. The research is a bibliographic and documentary review, and adopted a qualitative approach, with a descriptive and exploratory character. It is expected that the work will contribute to the understanding of the main challenges faced in Brazilian pre-hospital care, highlighting its structural, logistical, and human weaknesses.
