This article aims to explore the potential and challenges of underground architecture and how neuroarchitecture can be integrated into this typology to promote human well-being. In terms of approach, a qualitative and exploratory approach was adopted, using bibliographical research procedures. The paper discusses the history of underground construction and its current state, including its challenges and potential, as well as an analysis of how the concepts and applications of neuroarchitecture can promote well-being and quality of life in this type of construction. Finally, projects were analyzed that qualified as successful examples of these design practices, demonstrating how these spaces can be comfortable for human permanence when well-designed. It was concluded that, with the correct application of the neuroarchitectural parameters investigated, the use of underground spaces for the construction of human dwellings is a viable possibility, especially in regions with challenging natural issues.
