Palliative care seeks to offer comfort, dignity, and quality of life to patients with chronic and progressive diseases, with nursing playing a fundamental role in this process through the clinical and emotional support provided. This study aims to describe nursing care in palliative care units for patients with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. It is a narrative review of the literature, conducted in scientific databases such as SciELO, BVS, LILACS, and Google Scholar, considering publications between 2018 and 2025, totaling 24 articles after the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results highlighted the essential role of nursing in controlling physical symptoms, providing emotional support, family guidance, and multiprofessional integration. It is concluded that the training of the nursing team and individualized care planning are fundamental to promoting quality of life, dignity, and relief from suffering.
