Abstract

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia or cervical cancer is a disease that develops

through lesions deep in the vagina. In Brazil and in the world, the rates of its development are alarming and growing, a fact that exposes a real problem in public health. In this context, nursing professionals play a significant role in reducing cases, whether existing or that may arise, especially when assisting in preventive care for the disease, offering assistance. Thus, the objective of the work is to show, through an integrative review, the participation and duties of nurses in coping with cervical cancer, both in prevention and in the care of patients with the disease. Therefore, a study was carried out with a descriptive and qualitative approach, from which data collection took place through the computerized portals LILACS and SCIELO, so that after, the material was combined and the content was analyzed, with the respective schematization, categorization and description of the information conceived.
