Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM2) is one of the main chronic metabolic diseases, associated with insulin resistance and insufficient insulin secretion, with increasing prevalence globally and nationally. This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of children and adolescents diagnosed with DM2 in the municipality of Juazeiro-BA, from 2015 to 2025, considering the temporal distribution, sociodemographic characteristics, and main clinical outcomes. This is a descriptive, quantitative, and epidemiological study, based on secondary data extracted from DATASUS, including hospital and outpatient records from SIH/SUS and SIA/SUS. Data collection took place in August 2025, and the results indicated that Brazil registered 57,267 cases of DM2 in children and adolescents during the analyzed period, with the highest concentration in the Southeast region (24,926 cases), followed by the Northeast (15,056). The state of Bahia accounted for 4,925 cases, of which 27 occurred in Juazeiro-BA, representing 0.05% of the national total. In this municipality, a balanced distribution between the sexes was observed (48.1% male and 51.9% female), with a predominance in the 10-14 year age group (51.9%) and a prevalence among mixed-race individuals (96.3%). It is concluded that, although the absolute number of cases in Juazeiro is small, the identified patterns reveal the expansion of type 2 diabetes in medium-sized municipalities, reinforcing the need for local public policies focused on prevention, early diagnosis, and continuous monitoring.
