This study aimed to describe the importance of nursing care in the early identification and management of newborns with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). An integrative review was conducted, analyzing articles published between 2020 and 2025 in SciELO, BVS, and Google Scholar databases, using descriptors related to neonatal abstinence, fetal alcohol syndrome, and neonatal complications. Six articles met the inclusion criteria and were critically evaluated. Results showed that alcohol consumption during pregnancy remains high and is linked to severe complications such as low birth weight, prematurity, and irreversible cognitive impairments. The discussion emphasized the complexity of FAS diagnosis, especially in later stages of life, and highlighted the crucial role of nursing in screening, health education, and humanized care. In conclusion, screening protocols, psychological support, and multidisciplinary approaches are essential to reduce FAS impacts, reinforcing the need for effective public policies and greater awareness among pregnant women.
