Pediatric palliative care consists of an interdisciplinary approach aimed at relieving suffering and promoting the quality of life of children with chronic, incurable, or life-threatening diseases. Nurses play an essential role in this process, acting from symptom management and pain control to emotional support and communication with families. This article, based on an integrative review, identifies scientific evidence on nursing practice in pediatric palliative care, highlighting care practices, challenges, and the importance of professional qualification. The findings show that the presence of nurses directly contributes to the well‑being of the child and to family support, reinforcing the need for expansion and regionalization of palliative care services in Brazil.
