disorders in Brazil, exploring the challenges, coping strategies, and the promotion of humanized care. The research was conducted through an integrative literature review, with a bibliographic survey in databases such as Google Scholar and BVS, using descriptors related to psychiatric nursing and mental health care. Articles published between 2020 and 2025 were selected, and data analysis was carried out based on Bardin’s Content Analysis methodology (2016). The results indicated that nurses face significant structural challenges, such as lack of financial resources, work overload, and gaps in specific training in mental health. These factors compromise the quality of care and hinder the implementation of humanized practices. The most commonly adopted coping strategies include therapeutic listening, welcoming, and promoting patient autonomy, aiming at their social reintegration. The discussion highlighted that, despite advances with the Psychiatric Reform, the community model still faces difficulties due to inadequate funding and institutional resistance. The conclusion suggests that it is essential to invest in the continuing education of mental health professionals, ensure financial resources, and strengthen the articulation between services to consolidate the advances of the reform and promote comprehensive and humanized care.
