Brazilian agribusiness plays a central role in foreign trade, being one of the main food suppliers to the global market. At the same time, there is a growing international demand for products originating from sustainable supply chains, grounded in environmental, social and governance (esg) criteria. In this context, this article analyzes how brazilian agribusiness can adapt to global sustainability demands, seeking to balance competitiveness, economic growth and socio-environmental responsibility. The study discusses sustainable consumption trends, key international regulations and certifications that affect brazilian exports, as well as the role of sustainable technologies and innovations in reshaping agricultural practices. The research adopts a qualitative and quantitative approach, combining documentary analysis of reports, standards and foreign trade data with case studies of companies that implement sustainable practices. The results indicate that, although the sector faces significant barriers – such as deforestation, intensive use of chemical inputs and increasing regulatory pressure – there are relevant opportunities associated with the adoption of low-carbon technologies, environmental certifications, traceability and zero-deforestation policies. It is concluded that brazilian agribusiness has the potential to consolidate itself as a global leader in sustainable trade, provided that it increases investments in innovation, transparency and compliance with international sustainability standards, thus contributing to the achievement of the sustainable development goals (sdgs).
